Ken Griffey, Jr.

Ken Griffey Jr., the legendary Major League Baseball (MLB) outfielder, began his rookie season in 1989 with the Seattle Mariners. At just 19 years old, he took the league by storm, showcasing remarkable skills in both batting and fielding. Griffey Jr. hit .264 with 16 home runs and 61 RBIs during his rookie campaign, earning him the American League Rookie of the Year award. His smooth and powerful swing, combined with exceptional defensive prowess, made him an instant sensation in the baseball world.

 

Ken Griffey Jr. went on to have one of the most illustrious careers in MLB history. Playing primarily for the Seattle Mariners and later the Cincinnati Reds and Chicago White Sox, Griffey Jr. was known for his sweet left-handed swing and his incredible athleticism in center field. He was a 13-time All-Star and a 10-time Gold Glove Award winner, solidifying his status as one of the game's greatest outfielders. Over the course of his 22-year career, Griffey Jr. hit 630 home runs, ranking him sixth on the all-time home run list at the time of his retirement. His combination of power, speed, and charisma endeared him to fans, and he left an indelible mark on the sport. Ken Griffey Jr. was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2016, cementing his legacy as one of the most iconic players in the history of the game.
